The First Law of Löyly
‘Feet Above Stones’ is the First Law of Löyly. Your whole body is inside the Löyly cavity of a well designed sauna. Spiritwood saunas feature 8′ high ceilings and appropriately sized benches to keep your feet out of the cold zone. This height also adds a greater volume of air in a space that feels open and inviting.
Made for the Northern Climate
Spiritwood saunas are fully insulated, stand alone buildings. The interior walls consist of sustainable, hygroscopic cladding, air gap, and foil barrier to protect the wall cavity from moisture. The floor is waterproof with a drain located near the heat source. I use Cabot Exterior oil based stain for the outside finish, your colors of choice. The roof consists of reinforced trusses, purlins, and steel roof panels or other non-combustible roofing material of your choice. With light maintenance, your investment will stand for decades longer than a kit or barrel.
Personalized Features
Form follows function. Available features include custom tempered glass windows, change/cool down room, off grid shower, covered porch, entry deck, or a cold plunge for the brave. I have local suppliers with a healthy selection of suitable materials for those with certain wood type allergies. At Spiritwood Forest, you will get a truly personalized build from the ground up. If you prefer to keep it simple, I have some great base models that will get you sweating in no time.
Competitive Costs
The average investment of a custom sauna depends on features, desired materials, and general design factors. The stove or heater is separate purchase and I will work with you in selecting the best model for function and form. I provide a detailed proposal based on size, customizations, and materials. Most of the 4-6 person cabin saunas fall in the 10-14k range for sauna, heater, delivery, and set up. I have custom options for all budgets. Delivery: I am partnered with a professional shed delivery company that can place your sauna just about anywhere on your estate across New England. Delivery is free for Boscawen and surrounding communities.
